Skiing and Birds
December 9 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm$5.00 - $100.00
Skiing and Birds supports the Alta Bird Monitoring Study- a citizen science program that collects baseline data on Alta’s birds to inform conservation and stewardship of Alta.
Discover the birds of Alta by ski or snowshoe when you join Alta Environmental Center, Friends of Alta, and Tracy Aviary for Skiing and Birds on Saturday, December 9th. Help foster environmental stewardship and conservation while experiencing first-hand how citizen scientists observe and gather data. Come on a guided-intermediate ski tour. You can also choose a snowshoe tour, trekking through Alta’s winter beauty and visiting feeders on and off the slopes.
For children, Tracy Aviary Educators will be up at Alta for a special snowshoe Book & Boots. Enjoy story time & trek outside for a children’s snowshoe tour. There will be snacks and crafts, as well!
The Albion Grill welcomes guests for the après ski event, giving insights into the Alta Bird Study Project. This night is complemented by live music, a silent auction and hand-crafted hors d’oeuvres, with beverage partners including Red Rock Brewing, and Vine Lore. Guests will be dazzled by avian ambassadors with a unique nose-to-beak experience as their memorable evening takes flight.
