Friends of Alta Boston Dinner

Friends of Alta is delighted to report back that our first ever ‘Boston Dinner” on November 4th at The Stockyard in Boston, MA provided a unique opportunity to bring together likeminded Alta enthusiasts in the New England area. This event kicked-off our 2009/2010 ski season and supported Alta’s local land trust.  Guest speaker, Tony Chamberlain, one of the country’s foremost writers on both skiing and sailing joined the Alta crew in their celebration.  Tony logged many years at the Boston Globe, has written for numerous publications and, most saliently, knows firsthand the excitement of skiing at Alta. It has been said that Alta is a State of Mind, and the individual relationships we each hold with Alta confirms this. Underscored by the pleasure we have all shared skiing or hiking at Alta is the serious need to preserve the ecological health of the Albion Basin and Little Cottonwood Canyon. The Friends of Alta’s local land trust is dedicated to ensuring that healthy streams, abundant wildflowers and wildlife, impressive peaks, rich history and “the greatest snow on earth” can be enjoyed by generations to come.
