GET A CLOSER LOOK

Friends of Alta has funded and worked with Utah State University, and Westminster College to conduct an Eco-Geographical Study. This study was conceived from the need to create an integrated resource inventory of the Albion Basin. Albion Basin is the headwaters and an important recharge area to the Little Cottonwood Canyon watershed which supplies 15 - 20% of the culinary water supply for Salt Lake Valley. Find out more about the Eco-Geographical Study.

GIS AND YOU

Geographic Information System (GIS) is an exciting technology in which many types of data can be viewed and analyzed from a geographic perspective. GIS has many applications; Friends of Alta uses GIS to document important information about the Albion Basin that will help us in our conservation efforts, and provide a resource for other people interested in the Albion Basin.
