Summer 2012 Stewardship

Alta was bustling with stewarship activities last summer. Thank you so much to all of our wonderful volunteers for allowing us to accomplish so much: invasive weed pulling, tree planting, trail maintenance, and litter removal. Volunteers served over 2,100 hours on stewardship projects in Alta. Click here for more stewardship stats.

To encourage stewardship of Alta's environment Friends of Alta removed invasive weed species and continued the planting program in Alta this past summer, in addition to helping our numerous patners with their summer stewardship programs. We greatly appreciate all your brut strength and enthusiasm and help in sustaining Alta's environment.

Please contact Jen Clancy if you have questions and are interested in volunteering at similar events in the future at 801.742.9719 or jclancy@friendsofalta.org

Invasive Weed Pull & Restoration Work at Hellgate Condominiums
September 1, 2010

The meeting location is the Hellgate condos.
We will be removing invasive weeds and restoring the area just west of the Hellgate Condominiums.  Friends of Alta holds a conservation easement that was donated by the Hellgate owners on this parcel. This work is being done due to activities impacting the landscape from work done on the avalanche safety wall and due to flooding events this summer.

Please waer long pants, stury shoes, suncreen and bring enough water and food for the duration of the planting session.

Please contact Jen if your interested in attending at 801.742.9719 or info@friendsofalta.org.  This event is a collaborative effort with Hellgate Condominiums, Alta Environmental Center, and the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation.

Please RSVP to Jen if your interested in volunteering or have any questions: 801.742.9719 or info@friendsofalta.org.

Thanks, again for everyones hard work and dedication!
