To encourage stewardship of Alta's environment Friends of Alta will be removing invasive weed species and starting a new tree planting program in Alta this summer. There are several dates available for volunteering and we greatly appreciate all your brut strength and enthusiasm and help in sustain Alta's environment. The invasive weed pulls are made possible through a partnership with the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation and the US Forest Service and the tree planting program is through a partnership with the Alta Environmental Center. These events are also in collaboration with the Town of Alta.
Summer 2010 Invasive Weed Pull Details: Wednesday, July 7th from 1 - 4 pm Meet at the picnic tables just before the summer booth on south side of Road Please feel free to bring a lunch and join us from 12 - 1pm Please bring: sturdy closed toe shoes, sunscreen, snacks and water

*At this time a trail maintenance session for 2010 is not scheduled due to a few years of dedicated hard work leaving the trails in great shape. Once the snow melts and allows for a more thorough inspection, we will reconsider if trail work is needed.
