Lesson Planning

With its rich history and natural environment, Alta provides a wealth of subject matter for lesson planning in both primary and secondary grade levels. During the summer of 2004, Friends of Alta sponsored our first teacher in-service in Alta. This in-service focused on using geographic information systems (GIS) in third through sixth grade classrooms. In summers of 2005 and 2006 many of the same participants attended this teacher in-service. One goal was to provide lesson plans for GIS in the classroom. Friends of Alta welcomes lesson planning contributions to this website, especially if information regarding Alta or subject matter applicable to Alta is included.
