About the Event

Guests will go from telescope to telescope to view what the astronomer is focused on. Throughout the evening each astronomer will zoom in on several objects. The scopes and eyepieces will differ, so even seeing the same object through the different scopes will not look alike. Questions are encouraged and welcome!

This is an all ages event and ladders will be provided for smaller children.

Dress for the cold evening. We recommend warm clothes, gloves, hat, hand warmers, and a warm beverage to drink.

Turn off your phones so as not to interfere with your night vision. After seeing light, it takes about 30 minutes to get your night vision again. Once you are accustomed to the dark, you can see quite well. If a guest would like to bring a flashlight, only red-lights should be used. Red light doesn't affect your night vision.

Light snacks will be provided. Please BYOB in reusable containers.

**This event is contingent on weather** We will notify you through eventbrite if event is cancelled.

Parking is at Catherine's Pass Trailhead. Overflow parking near entrance to Albion Basin campground. No parking is permitted on the summer road.

Thank you to Salt Lake Astronomical Society for helping co-host this amazing event.

We are asking for a suggested donation of $10 to help Friends of Alta continue to protect the environment we love and a portion of the proceeds will go to the scope operators at the Salt Lake Astronomical Society. You are supporting a great cause and will positively affect the quality of Little Cottonwood Canyon.
