Tara Morin
Operations Manager
Tara was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she developed a deep love for nature and the outdoors from an early age. She visited various National Parks and camped often in the mountains since she was young. She spends most of her free time hiking, biking, rock climbing, and skiing/snowboarding year-round. That love for nature fostered a passion for promoting sustainable planning and environmental protection.
In 2018, Tara graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Environmental & Sustainability Studies and Urban Ecology. As a result of her graduation, she was hired by Highland City as a City Planner & GIS Analyst. After many years as a City Planner it became apparent that in order to protect the environment more work had to be done on the ground level instead of through resolutions and ordinances.
In 2020, Tara had the honor of becoming Operations Manager for Friends of Alta. Since her position with Friends of Alta she has helped gather various funds through extensive fundraising efforts and outreach. These funds are used to help protect Alta’s unique environment and the Little Cottonwood Canyon watershed. Little Cottonwood Canyon is a beautiful environment that she is looking forward to protecting for future generations to come.
Member since 2020.
